A Heart That Serves

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.  (1 Peter 4:10-11)

We were made to serve.  When our hearts long to serve others, we can know that they are working just fine.

Jesus came as the ultimate servant, giving His very life for all.

How wonderful it, and how pleasing it is to God, when we use our gifts to help and be of service to others!

Don't Forget About Me

What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? (Mark 8:36)

It's so easy to get caught up in life.

Work, projects, tasks, and all sorts of different activities have a way of pulling us in and consuming us.

It's good to have goals and fun things to do. It's part of what makes life a fun journey.

But it's important to remember to keep God #1 throughout it all.

Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'  This is the first and greatest commandment. (Matthew 22:37-38)

One way that we can do that is by dedicating the good things that we do to Him.

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31)

I've contended with this many times in my life, where I had become so consumed with something, only to later notice that God was far from my mind.

It can happen to anyone.

"Don't Forget About Me" was written as a reminder to keep God in the forefront.

As the Chorus goes- Go ahead and have your dreams, but don't forget about me.
